[edit] What is Digg?
Digg is a place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by our users. You won’t find editors at Digg — we’re here to provide a place where people can collectively determine the value of content and we’re changing the way people consume information online.

[edit] Search Your Own Diggs
- Brian Shaler + Google Gears = "Search Your Own Diggs" Feature is Back! : As a proof-of-concept for his lectures on the future of web services, Brian Shaler shows how server-intensive functionality on user-specific datasets can be pushed to the client. Platforms like Gears and Adobe AIR are bringing databases to the client. The result: "Growing Pains" and hardware costs are reduced, even while adding new functionality. Why not just go to Digg.com and search? Digg no longer allows you to perform searches on your voting history. Many people use Digg as a bookmarking tool, and thus intend to reference back to specific articles. There may be thousands of stories on the same topic, not all will contain the same content as the story you are looking for.
